The Coimbatore District Hockey Association (CDHA), in association with Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), successfully organised the CDHA Veeramangai Agni Hockey League 2026 for Women at the Coimbatore Corporation Hockey Turf Ground, RS Puram, from 11th to 12th July 2026.

The two-day tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from eight teams representing clubs, colleges, and schools, providing an excellent platform for women hockey players to showcase their talent and competitive spirit.

The valedictory function was graced by Honourable Shri V. Sampath Kumar, Minister for Backward Classes Welfare and Minister in Charge of Coimbatore District, as the Chief Guest. Shri Rajkumar, District Secretary, Coimbatore North, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, attended as the Guest of Honour. They were joined by various committee heads of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam.

The function was also attended by Dr. P. Senthil Rajkumar, General Secretary, Hockey Unit of Tamilnadu and Honorary Secretary, Coimbatore District Hockey Association; Mr. Mervyn Jussy, Senior Vice President; Mr. Udaya Kumar, Treasurer; Mr. Thirunavukarasu, Joint Secretary; and Dr. Somasundramoorthi, Vice President and Chairman, Tournament Committee, CDHA, along with other distinguished dignitaries.

The Coimbatore District Hockey Association expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Smt. Ambika Saravanan, District Women Chairperson, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, and her dedicated team of women associates for their outstanding efforts, commitment, and wholehearted support in successfully organising the tournament. Their contribution was instrumental in making the CDHA Veeramangai Agni Hockey League 2026 a memorable and successful event.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr Somasundramoorthi – Chairman, Tournament Committee for all his efforts in planning and scheduling this event in organised manner and also thank Mr Gregory Harris, Chairman, Technical Committee, CDHA, Mr Greg Joseph , Asst Secretary, Mr Manoj & Smt Sugirtha, Smt Lavanya EC members and Mr Balaji Kumar and all the officials and members of CDHA for their unconditional support

CDHA remains committed to promoting women’s hockey by creating more opportunities for players at the school, college, and club levels, thereby strengthening the development of the sport in Coimbatore and Tamil Nadu.
